Server Access Issues
“What happens when my Point of Sale has lost access to the Back Office server?”
There are a few things that this can affect depending on your configuration:
- Gift Cards… You will not be able to accept Gift Cards as a method of payment;
- Returns… If you are using verified returns, this feature will not function;
- Inventory Lookup… You will not be able to use the Inventory Lookup feature;
- Orders… Orders can be created, orders created on the local register can be edited and finalized, but orders created on other registers are unavailable until Back Office server access returns;
- Synchronizing… The server will not receive any updates from the POS register(s), and the registers will not receive any system, product, or customer updates.
